Last updated: June 2026. How responsibility works for content listed on Laynex, and how we handle piracy, IP infringement, and takedown requests.
In plain words
Laynex is only a marketplace that connects sellers and buyers. We do notcreate, own, review the legality of, or guarantee any code listed here. The person who lists the code (the "Seller") is fully and solely responsiblefor it. If content is pirated, stolen, or infringes someone's rights, the liability rests entirely with the Seller, not Laynex.
Laynex operates as an "intermediary" under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India). We provide a neutral platform that hosts listing metadata and facilitates payment and GitHub access. We do not author, host the source code of, endorse, or independently verify the ownership or legality of any listed repository. We qualify for "safe harbour" protection under Section 79 of the IT Act.
By listing any content on Laynex, the Seller represents, warrants, and agrees that:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Laynex, its founders, employees, and affiliates are not responsible or liable for any content listed by Sellers, including but not limited to piracy, copyright or IP infringement, defective code, or any unlawful material. All such liability rests entirely and exclusively with the Seller who listed it.
Buyers acknowledge that they purchase access at their own risk and that Laynex makes no warranty regarding the legality, quality, or fitness of any listed code. Any dispute over ownership or legality of content is strictly between the Seller and the complaining party.
The Seller agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Laynex and its operators against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, losses, damages, penalties, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that arise out of or relate to the content they listed, their breach of these policies, or their violation of any law or third-party right.
We take infringement seriously and act on valid complaints. If you believe content on Laynex infringes your rights, send a takedown notice to shreyashlaynex@gmail.com including:
On receiving a valid notice, we will remove or disable the listing within 36 hours (as required under the IT Rules, 2021) and notify the Seller. Repeat infringers are permanently banned.
While Laynex is not liable for Seller content, we fully cooperate with the law. Upon receipt of a valid legal request — such as a court order, a notice from law enforcement, or a properly substantiated demand from a verified rights holder — we will disclose the relevant Seller's identifying information we hold (such as name, email, GitHub identity, payment metadata, and transaction records) to the requesting authority or rights owner, to the extent permitted and required by law.
In short: if a legitimate party demands it through proper legal channels, we will hand over the lister's information so they can pursue the responsible person directly. Laynex itself remains a neutral intermediary and is not the responsible party.
Laynex may, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, remove or suspend any listing, withhold payouts on disputed listings, suspend or terminate Seller accounts, and preserve records relating to suspected unlawful activity. These rights are in addition to any other remedies available to us.
By listing content on Laynex you confirm that you have read and accepted this policy, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy, and that you accept full responsibility and liability for everything you list.
